General
Edelweiss Air is a charter airline based in Switzerland which is owned by Swiss International Air Lines, which is in turn a subsidiary of Lufthansa. However, Edelweiss is not subject to Lufthansa management. Established in 1995, Edelweiss operates a relatively small fleet of 5 Airbus aircraft, with one more on order. All the planes are on lease from parent company Swiss International Air Lines.
Edelweiss covers a large range of destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.
Edelweiss planes have two cabin classes – Business and Economy. Catering in both classes is lavish, and there are also entertainment features. Passengers with specific dietary preferences (such as religious or health determined diets) can request an appropriate menu, but they must do so 5 days before departure. Children between the ages of 2 and 12 are provided with a dedicated entertainment channel and it is also possible to book customized meals for them, but you must do so at least 5 working days before the flight departs. The children are given a knapsack too.
Please note that Edelweiss Air is a charter airline, so if you want to make use of them but you are not sure as to how to book your ticket, you are advised to contact us so that we can assist you in make the necessary arrangements for your trip.
